About me
Hi, I'm Kristen - cat lady, introvert, designer of the internets, recovering photographer, heavy consumer of true crime podcasts, lover of all black clothes but colourful everything else, and expert napper.
I learned photography by shooting bands.
I shot everyone from Rihanna and her umbrella, Bon Jovi and his hips to Lady Gaga and her piano.
I muscled between burly men and their Slipknot. I hustled between screaming girls and their Bieber.
I dodged elbows. I ducked bottles. I sidestepped bursts of fire.
Because during the late night shows and week-long festivals – in amongst the crowds and the lights and all the harmonious chaos – I found my eye.
Those years with a lens in hand taught me everything I needed to know to be the designer I am today.
I know what it’s like to jostle shoulder-to-shoulder with your competition.
And I loved every second of it.
I know what it’s like to try to discover your unique angle amongst the noise.
I know what it takes to move from page-three-good to front-cover-EPIC.
How I shot then is exactly how I design now. With purpose. With passion. With an unending desire to create a visual that captures the vibe you’re putting out so they’ll want to pick it up by the gorram armful.
